I adore many historical paintings by old masters as well as the modern artwork by contemporary artists, there’s just too many to be listed down here so I would only mention 8 of them:-
One of my wildest dreams is having my own gallery, lol

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”
He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
I collect most of the novels written by Anne Rice, I absolutely adore her writing style. There are a few titles that I am still missing however, such as “Pandora”, “Blood and Gold”, “Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana”, “Called Out of Darkness” and the 3 erotica (The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, Beauty’s Punishment and Beauty’s Release) written under her pseudonym A. N. Roquelaure. I’m gonna complete my collection soon, you bet I will…
A few days ago I got a copy of her latest novel, “Angel Time“. Many thanks to my friend in Penang for sending the book to me. I mentioned in one of my previous post that I wanted that book badly and now that I have gotten it, I’m feeling ultra delighted and grateful.
My curiosity and fascination with various mythical creatures of the night did not begin after the birth of the Twilight saga as some people may think. My ‘love’ for vampires had begun more than 15 years ago (I was still young then), after reading Anne’s first novel.
I dropped by tamu kedayan last Saturday to meet one of the sellers there. I had made an appointment with her earlier and requested her to weave some ketupat for me (for a fee, of course). I happened to pass by that area one day while accompanying my mum shopping when I noticed bunches of ketupat hanging on the pillars as well as from the ceilings. Suddenly, I’m interested to learn the art of weaving ketupat! So I persuaded one of the kind ladies there to teach me the art. Read the rest of this entry »
Something in my Inbox caught my attention the other day; something lovely to ponder upon.
Cherished Words from our Dear Brother His Holiness the Dalai Lama:
“Basically, universal responsibility is the feeling for other people´s suffering just as we feel our own. It is the realization that even our own enemy is motivated by the quest for happiness. We must recognize that all beings want the same thing we want. This is the way to achieve a true understanding, unfettered by artificial consideration.”
Under the bright sun, many of us are gathered together with different languages, different styles of dress, even different faiths. However, all of us are the same in being humans, and we all uniquely have the thought of “I,” and we´re all the same in wanting happiness and in wanting to avoid suffering”
“I believe our every-day experience confirms that a self-centered attitude towards problems can be destructive not only towards society, but to the individual as well. Selfishness does not solve problems for us, it multiplies them. Accepting responsibility and maintaining respect for others will leave all concerned at peace. This is the essence of Mahayana Buddhism.” Read the rest of this entry »
